As of 18 July 2026, the box office battlefield is taking shape, and the opening weekend trajectory is already revealing which titles have momentum and which are struggling to find an audience. The Odyssey’s Colossal Lead

The biggest story is unavoidable: The Odyssey is running away with the game. With a ₹35.15Cr India net in just two days, the Hollywood epic has already surpassed the combined domestic gross of every other film on the list by a factor of nearly 30. Its worldwide gross of ₹19.22Cr—lower than its India net—hints at a somewhat softer international opening, but the domestic dominance is absolute. At this pace, it’s on track for one of the year’s biggest openings.

Regional Releases: Tight Clusters and Small Margins

Below the top spot, the competition is razor-thin. Tollywood’s Oh..! Sukumari leads the regional pack with ₹0.51Cr India net, but the gap to Kollywood’s Arulvaan (₹0.39Cr) is less than ₹12 lakhs. Anbe Diana follows closely at ₹0.30Cr, while Pollywood’s Dastaar and Tollywood’s Mister Middle Class round out the middle order with ₹0.21Cr and ₹0.16Cr respectively.

Notably, every film in the top ten has been in theatres for exactly two days, making these early numbers a clean snapshot of opening buzz. The Mollywood entry Achyuta Avataaram and smaller Tollywood titles like MRP and Raja The Raja are hovering below the ₹10 lakh mark—critical junctures where strong word-of-mouth or lack thereof will determine their fate by Monday.

With all films still in their opening frame, the real test comes over the weekend. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s update as holds and drops start separating the hits from the also-rans.
